My name is Maina Perez and I’m a multi-media makeup artist.

Before diving into makeup, I had a passion for hair and was particularly fascinated by how playing with color and tone could dramatically enhance and highlight a client’s features. When I realized that makeup had the same power, I started experimenting with different colors and techniques. I took 4 years of cosmetology courses and in 2017, I joined the Academy of Glam, where I was trained by Victoria Duke’s beauty team.

Although you’ll usually find me wearing black, I’ve always been stimulated by color: I grew up in the sunny and vibrant city of Miami and am drawn to the décor, architecture and landscapes of Latin America. While I always strive to create a natural, seamless look, I love pops of bright hues to make a statement.

It’s not just that I get to flex my creative muscle that makes me love what I do—I enjoy getting to know every one of my clients. For the last 10 years, I’ve worked (in different capacities) in social work and seeing people change and better themselves is one of my greatest motivators. I find that makeup can have a similar effect: I believe that it has the power to be transformative and uplifting. That philosophy drives me to ensure that I always leave my clients with a result they love and a beauty look that stands against the test of time.

I’m available for makeup artistry needs including special events, print, runway, airbrushing and lessons, and love working with diverse clients of all ethnicities, ages and styles.
